Cape Coat

A coat revolution is upon us and it looks like the unstructured coats are taking over the world. They might not work so well keeping you warm but never before has it been so trendy to use layers, and even do a coat on coat kinda look. This I will get back to in a later post. Since I’ve always been a huge fan of the cape I also love the cape coat. The cape coat was represented on many runways this season and is an item I’m not missing out on this winter. This lovely cape in an even lovelier camel color is from Oscar de la Renta. White blouse from Donna Karan, skinny jeans from Blk Dnm, Paper dolls buckle boots available at lipsy.com and a Karen Millen large clutch bag.Cape Coat

Effortless style

In this set we’re looking at coming trends for next season, spring 2016. The image below is from BCBGMAXAZRIA spring 2016 runway. I really love this casual look. I love how they’ve styled the white shirt underneath the sweater. The point is to roll up the sleeves of the sweater and allow the sleeves of the white shirt to show.  A great layering look. The mules are still around it seems and stripes are now a wardrobe essential, we just simply can’t get rid of them. And who would want to anyways.Effortless style

Tulle Skirt & Kimono

From floral summer dresses to flowy skirts, today it’s all about tulle skirts.
Starting off with this mesh tulle skirt in a smokey grey from Chicwish.
I like the grey feel so I’ve styled it with a light grey silk blouse from Donna Karan New York and added a half-sleeve kimono from Mint Velvet.
To keep it more casual I’ve added H by Hudson flats in metallic, sophisticated but still casual. A white shoulder bag from Jil Sander finishes this look.
More tulle skirts coming at you later today.

December 24.

I’ve had so much to do the past few days so I have to apologize for my late updates and for not posting at all yesterday.
Christmas eve was yesterday and it was the most wonderful day.
It’s been snowing straight for a few weeks and its cold. It was 16 degrees below Celsius on Christmas eve. Today it’s ‘only’ 13 below. Perfect winter weather, cold and lots of snow.
My kids celebrated with us on little Christmas eve and on the morning of Christmas eve. They are doing the every other year kinda thing.
My eldest daughter is in the midst of moving, she just finished her year in the army and is now moving in with her grandparents in our nations capital.
My hubby and I had a great Christmas eve and we got many amazing presents, so we’re very pleased.
We open our presents on Christmas eve after Christmas dinner. In some countries they open their gifts in the morning the 25th.
So Happy Christmas morning to those who celebrate today.
Here it’s a holy day today, one of the holiest days of the year. We call it first Christmas day, tomorrow it’s the second Christmas day. Meaning today is the first day after Christmas eve. This week we call ‘Romjul’. Love the words but I have no clue where it came from and what the original meaning were. But Romjul is my fave part of the year, the quiet week between Christmas eve and New years eve. A time to relax and reflect.
Have a great Christmas everyone!

Winter Lovely

With all the colors lately it’s time to post a black & white outfit:)
A combination that is just as trendy this winter as it was this spring.
I haven’t written much in my last posts and hardly anything at all about trends and fashion, but with so few reading, if any at all, I don’t really see a huge need for it:)
Feel free to interpret my sets as you please.)

Tomorrow’s my birthday and I’ve been getting ready to look fabulous for my very own day by having an at home SPA treatment.
Actually it’s already my birthday since its past midnight, but I guess it doesn’t count just yet since I was born around 7 in the morning.
I’m feeling better too, finally, best birthday gift ever!
I’m off to get some shut-eye, have a good night everyone!!
